One of the best places in Chicago for indoor engagement photos in the winter is Salvage One, it’s an old warehouse located on West Hubbard St in the heart of Chicago. While Salvage One does charge couples for the right to take engagement pictures there the fee is really reasonable
compared to most other “indoor” venue’s around the city and when you take into consideration the fact that this unique venue offers nearly limitless possibilities for photos and the fact that you can do so sheltered from the elements it’s easy to see why many couples belive it’s
worth every penny! While we lucked out with some beautiful weather the day of this shoot we were still excited to have the opportunity to explore Salvage One which is really just a huge 4 story warehouse full of cool old furniture, doors, desks, and decorations, there are nooks
and cranies, stair cases, elevators, phone booths, huge windows, and tons of light, it is a photographers dream come true. While some people may balk at the idea of paying an additional fee to be able to take their pictures here I believe it’s well worth it, as a photographer I’ve had my
fair share of shoots where we’ve quickly and quietly snuck into a location snapped a few pictures and then tried to sneak out before being noticed and while it can be effective and is occasionally your only option having complete free range of a creative space like Salvage One is
definitely worth the price of admission! If you’re hunting for an indoor location for your Chicago engagement photos this winter or you’re just looking for something fun and quirky you’ve got to check this place out! For those of you getting married in the city you can even rent out
Salvage One for your wedding! While we had a great time shooting here we simply had to take advantage of the beautiful day so we took off for Millennium Park where we took a few more engagement photos before winding up the shoot at North Avenue Beach for some shots with
the skyline. All in all it was a great afternoon with an amazing couple, congratulations to Shannon and Keith on their engagement and upcoming wedding!
